Sundrops, the Special Flava

When Lex had first thought about kissing Clark, they'd been standing together under a golden summer sun, enjoying a joke and Martha's ice-cooled lemonade. Lex had licked his lips with a secret smile, imagining Clark's warm against his with a citrus tang. Too soon, he'd thought and tucked the shining memory away to pull out on the worst of days.

Months later under a steel-grey sky, tempted by a fresh apple pie and sun-bright smile, Lex could no longer resist. Snow-chilled lips tasting of cocoa - marshmallow soft and sweet - warmed under Lex's to chase the winter blues away.

The story for this artwork was never posted. I was supposed to pinch hit the art for another story and never received a draft to work with. *shrugs*

Title: Dammit, Fraser! This Wasn't in the Handout...

Author: nightshadow_t2

Characters/pairing: Lex/Clark; Benton/RayK

Rating: Nc-17 for safety

Warnings: Crossover, AU

Summary: Smallville/Due South Crossover. You know, Conventions are supposed to be boring, mind-numbing events where you scoff at stupidity and play hang-man while they teach you something you figured out years ago. They're not supposed to involve finding a Baby Guide protecting his drugged Sentinel from a speeding car and seeing said speeding car crumple because Baby Guide stopped it with his hands. This was so not in the manual. Any of them.

I'm fighting off bronchitis and dealing with too much joint pain to think about writing at the moment, so you get an art retrospective instead. :-P

The artworks for [personal profile] sgareversebang have been chosen by the authors and I must confess I'm thrilled that someone wanted mine as their first choice! It's tough putting yourself out there, hoping someone will be inspired by what you've created.

I love all my fic and art pieces - if I'm not happy with them no one ever sees or reads them. Quite often, the art precedes the fiction for me - just like it does for the reverse bang challenge. Other times, the art is driven by the words, especially when I create something for another author. Of the hundreds of pieces in my galleries, I do have some favorites.

Artist: [livejournal.com profile] danceswithgary
Pairing: Clark/Lex, Kal-El/Lex
Original Story and Author: The Presence of Fire by [livejournal.com profile] rivkat
Remix Rating: G
Summary: Of the many [livejournal.com profile] rivkat Smallville stories I had to choose from, The Presence of Fire has captured my attention with its graphic descriptions every time I've re-read it, yet it ends on a positive note. Rather than attempting to rewrite or add to the story with another POV, I decided to tackle remixing (actually representing) it visually. I've also included some of the thought process behind my choices for the artwork and some of the interim stages of development.

When I make icons they're typically a crop and re-size of a much larger piece I've pulled together using multiple caps, photos, and layers. Often, the piece is left unfinished after I've cropped out what I was working toward and I usually end up discarding them. Recently, that's led to frustration when I go through my icons for posting and realize that I really would have liked a copy of the full-size piece for my gallery.

As a result, I've been trying to make a conscious effort to save my .psd files on some of my more complex pieces before I perform the final merge so I can go back and 'finish' the full-size piece later if I so choose.

This recent Lex piece is an example - I went back to finish it with a painted effect.
