I loved this story... had a bit of mysteriousness to it. Loved that Lex's main concern is to protect Clark and almost does something he'd regre to do that, but thankfully Bruce came along! :D

I just found the "phone tag" unbelievably funny though. *grins*

I wanted Lex to figure out he couldn't make bad choices when it came to Clark and Bruce was his reward for being good!

The phone bit was the toughest part, trying to make sure the time zones were right and the gaps in communication at least a little bit believable in this age of instant messaging. :-D

Nice! I liked the way you kept him (and us) on the edge, wondering. I like it very much that he came to the decision to avoid shady dealing on his own. And Bruce! Yay for Bruce saving the day! (that big shadow made me nervous--glad it was Bruce!)

I liked how Lex realizes that he needs to stay on the right side of the law in order to be with Clark and that he felt so relieved when he broke off the deal, because Clark is really that important to him.

okay; second time i've read this, and i still swoon every time i even THINK of Lex telling Bruce about his angel... i don't care if it's "schmoopy" or not!!! bring it ON!

i love that Clark brings out his vulnerable side...and the side of him that wants to be ethical, live up to what Clark sees in him rather than what his father wants him to be. it's like Lex has the bumper sticker, "Please let me be the man my Clark thinks I am." LOL

love the idea of Lex and Bruce as school buds. so could happen.
do you picture the Val Kilmer or the Christian Bale Bruce in this? for some reason, i'm seeing the latter and i was wondering if that was just me or if you had some subtle thing in there that i missed that makes me lean in that direction. (knew it couldn't be Clooney--ugh--or Keaton...Keaton was a great Batman but not such a great Bruce; but Kilmer and Bale were great at both).

*wonders if Lex knows Bruce is Batman in this and how hilarious if he doesn't and finds out later when Clark is in the League and the Leaguers are coming by for other reasons when Lex and Clark are living together in Metropolis...that would be hilarious.

I would say that Christian Bale would be the Batman I visualize when writing, physically he always felt like the right choice because although I like Val Kilmer a lot, he wasn't 'dark' enough.

Lex wouldn't know Bruce was Batman is this, they've been completely out of touch, so yeah, it would be interesting if they met in that personna later.

I just went all sqooshy because of this fic. I love how you write them both- poor Clark's worried Lex has run off on him and Lex wants to protect him at all costs, only to realize the cost might be too high. Virtue is rewarded and all is well. (And Yay for Bruce!)
