I love my Gary. Really. I do!

But...

Scene: Basement in front of washer and dryer.

Gee, there are a lot fewer clothes down here than I expected.

Seemed like more when I brought them...oh no, he didn't!

He did.

On Medium heat.

My new clothes for summer.

I wore them once.

I need to be two different sizes. One for before Gary tries to be helpful and does the wash and one for after. Guess which size needs to be smaller.

Thirty-three years together. Wanna guess how many times this has happened?

Some scripts just never stop being amusing, that is when it's many weeks later, after all the cursing is out of the way.

There is a reason why I usually buy clothes that are loose and cheap. I bought clothes that fit perfectly this time. Perfectly. I looked pretty damn good.

It's a good thing he's out riding and won't be back for another 8 hours.

ouch. i did that to a new summery outfit (that i had worn once) a couple of years ago -- forgot to take them out before putting the wet clothes into the dryer and then took out barbie clothes. i'm much plus-sized, so let's say this made the outfit completely unwearable. unfortunately, it was all my own fault!

sorry about your pretty new duds.

*tries not to laugh*

*fails*

I'm sorry, hon. That must be really annoying :(

Well, the forgiveness thing is the most important

I'm sorry for laughing though. I'd be pissed off if it was me.

Oh, no! *mourns your new clothes with you*

Thankfully, in my house, we all do our own laundry. *grins* Although, usually my dad will do the towels.

*sniff* Oh no! :-( *sympathetic sigh* My husband likes to 'help', too. You know...throw a silk shirt in the wash with a pair of the kids' sneakers. That kind of thing.
...Maybe you can get a foot rub out of it? lol

Oh, no!

On the washer we have a post-it that said to always wash with cold water, so this problem never happened.

awww! [hugs]

I'm sorry about your husband's laundry-impairment. *pets you* But at least he does it out of sweetness. There are evil husbands out there who would do it out of malice! *pets own husband, who knows better than to ever, ever touch the laundry*

You're still SuperVal -- you're just super in different ways.

I agree, you're still SuperVal!

My parents solved that problem YEARS ago. There's no hot water connected to the washer.

once, while we were on vacation, the man washed my beautiful white summer clothes in boiling water with a pair of blue jeans. Now, you ladies are good, because *I* cussed a blue streak and threatened death and demanded new clothing on the spot, or a pint of his blood. Luckily, he's very skilled at ignoring me. And smart enough to know how to make it up to me.

*hee* My husband and I split the laundry duty. Neither of us are very good at it, so we wash everything on cold to prevent disasters, even if it does lead to dingier clothes...

Sometimes my mother-in-law comes and performs a Laundry Miracle and eveything seems to come out cleaner and smelling wonderfully like spring, but I don't know how she does it.

My father, however, is in Gary's league. I have rarely seen my mother move so fast as when he heads down to the laundry room and starts makes noises about washing... :)

My husband and I went away on a two-week vacation once and came back to find that my mother had helpfully done ALL OUR LAUNDRY on the 'hot as hell' cycle, and the only clothes we had that would fit us were the (dirty) ones in our luggage.
