7 quirks meme

1. I always thought of myself as a blonde growing up and it startled me to have people describe me as a redhead or strawberry blonde. When I look at old pictures (and even recent pictures now that I've gone back to my natural color) I'm always surprised at how red my hair is, especially if I've avoided the sun.
2. I read in the car or really anywhere I'm waiting for more than five minutes. For years, I always carried a book with me and would make people laugh when I hauled it out while standing in line or waiting to be served. The book's been replaced by my PDA which is loaded with CLex fics, thousands of them!
3. I'm usually a degree or two warmer than most people, an odd thing that started over a year ago and the doctors can't figure out why. Gary doesn't mind because I keep him warm at night and it can be amusing at times. The other night he touched me with a cold arm in bed and I jumped and complained about him being an ice cube. He laughed and said, "Hey, we could be the latest superhero team! ChillyMan and FurnaceGirl!" Well, I thought it was funny. :-P
4. I went back to school when I was thirty to get my bachelor's degree in computer science. That was twenty years ago and there weren't many women in the field - I was one of seven women in the department the year I graduated! I actually had one teacher tell me he didn't think women belonged in the math/sciences field. Thank goddess that's changed, at least somewhat!
5. I read over 1000/words a minute. I wish I typed that fast. :-D
6. I get obsessed about something and eat, live, breathe it for about seven years, then drop it and almost never go back - maybe an occasional drive by. Past obsessions - sewing and clothing design, gardening, handicrafts, biking, computer adventure games. The only obsessions that have survived the seven-year itch are Gary and dancing. I figure either CLex/fanfiction has five years left or it's another lifetime love. :-P
7. I jiggle a foot when I have my feet up on my reclining sofa, or when sitting at my desk or the table. - constantly. Drives my nearest and dearest ones up a wall, but they're sweet and don't usually yell, very often, sort of. "Would you *please* stop shaking the couch, I can't read my screen!"
