What are your thoughts on aliens-that-are-not-Clark Kent? I have a special love for your fanfics that are sci-fi oriented, so I'd like to know what you think about the other Kryptonians (or on writing them), or the possibility that aliens exist among us in real life? :D
*is a giant zany dork*
Well, I guess I would join you in dorkhood since my favorite sci-fi books have humans dealing with either aliens, medicine, or computers. The best have all three. :-D
Looking back through my fics, I see I've only had a few where aliens were introduced and they were definitely a simple plot point. The exception was Another Time and Another Place where Krypton never exploded. I haven't really been compelled to explore other Kryptonians or alien species in my fics. I guess I get my alien/human interaction fix with the Clark/Lex dynamic because I do like to interpret Clark's actions/reactions in an 'alien' context. In fact, that's probably one of the major reasons CLex is my OTP.
I love a Clark with 'invisible' alien characteristics like bonding, telepathy etc. In addition, subtle physical differences are much more interesting to me than easily apparent - at least when it comes to Clark. On the other hand, my favorite alien/human series are C.J.Cherryh's Foreigner and Chanur where the differences are anything but subtle, yet the human is irresistibly drawn to the alien.
Do I believe aliens exist among us? I'd like to think so, but I don't hold out a lot of hope. I guess I'll keep writing CLex to help fill in the gap. *grin*
Hope that answers the question. Ask if you need more detail. :-D
