That was so much fun, and informative too. I like the metaphor of Lex with pointilism - that you will lose sight of the big picture if you look too closely at any of the dots. I think that's what happened to both Clark and Lex by the end.

I also giggled at the line "sometimes it feels like he's waiting for me to figure out something." Note to Lex: stop trying to be subtle!

I have to agree with Jlvsclrk. I think by the end both of were so fixated on those little dots they lost sight of what was important. Their incredible relationship.

Well it would be a relationship if Clark would get a freakin clue *grumbles* Maybe Martha could help him figure it out? *G*

Beautifully written as always. *loves*

This was very different and unique. I liked seeing their relationship compared to pointillism and this painting in particular. It's one of my favorites.

Clark seemed to get so much out of the mechanics of how the dots and their placement work. How things can look different depending on where you are from the subject. About things being an optical illusion. Lex always seems to be wanting to create an illusion when it comes to how people see him. I think Clark could make him just be himself.

I'm surprised he didn't pick up on the subtleness of his own words when he said Lex expects him to figure out something. At least he is starting to get a clue. The fact that he thinks they could balance one another gives me hope. What a different and delightful take on the relationship. I enjoyed reading this.

Beautiful comparison between Clark/Lex and Pointillism. Glad Clark learned something from his essay (and I did too lol). Maybe he needs to talk to Lex about what he learned. :)

I liked how you turned the darker original piece into something with a little hope. It was also a fun idea to use Pointillism to make your (eek, sorry, I'm about to pun) point. Pointillism was also a cool choice since the original used mosaics to write her story around. Awesome story and I enjoyed the lesson on the art form as well.

ETA: Oh, the art was super cool too. I enjoyed your attempt to show the art form you picked.

I started reading this in the redux post, but I think I didn't leave a comment there, so just in case I'm commenting here :P You made me look up all those references, and I even read some more on the movement, so now you're responsible for having culturised me as well as fed my fannish cravings :D I simply kneel at your feet ^^ Thanks!
