Ahhh, that was so sweet. Love how Clark connected with Lex on the sunburn. As for Clark's bit about his planet, that was beautifully done. And Lex wanting to brush Clark's hair - totally tender.

Not anytime soon. You have no idea how many times I re-wrote this simple little thing. Different POV's, more movement, less movement, completely silent, even hair brushing and more talking/sex afterwards. I finally trimmed it back to simple, just what I wanted to to say and no more, a connection and the beginning of something more.

I'll tell you what. I'll keep those pretty eyes of yours in the back of my mind and if another bunny comes out to investigate, I'll consider it. *grin*

My mom and I have always done the same thing when we get sunburned, but I never really thought of what a close, intimate act it is until now. You find some of the most interesting things to express our boys affection for each other. So quite lovely. :)

I think it really hit me how intimate an act it was when I thought about how few people I allow to touch me or to enter my personal space, even within my own family. My husband holds my trust and always has, and is accorded privileges no one else is allowed, not even my daughter. :-D

I loved the intimacy shown throughout the story - sitting quietly, side by side at the beginning just enjoying each others company; the grooming and personal remembrances firming the bond they are forging; the revelation of a secret and the unconditional acceptance of it cementing that bond.
