Date: 2008-10-12 05:50 am (UTC)A sleepy question and an open palm call you closer, a muttered protest at your absence warming, evaporating the remnants of rain-cold doubts. You pull off clothes that carry mountain air, the damp of mile-high clouds, and you crawl inside the future praying he'll never taste the salt of your hesitation.
You choose hope.
Damn! I *love* that!

[...] you stand on a mountain, states east from your mistake, and face the whirlwind.
Again, very evocative imagery. It makes it easier to imagine Clark's internal battle, trying to sort out his thoughts and emotions, all the while knowing that this might be the biggest mistake of his life. I especially like states east from your mistake part.
This is a very beautiful and poignant story! I loved the fact that Clark knows what Lex has done, can't forget it, but loves him anyway. That he hesitates, but then makes the conscious decision to stay with Lex.
There were many more lines I liked, but I don't want to quote you your whole story :P The cover is also beautiful - I love Clark's expression, how he really seems to be staring at an oncoming hurricane. Great job!
