In between [community profile] sga_newsletter duties,
squeeing and trash talkin' *grin* about [community profile] mcshep_match,
fixing the broken links on my import from LJ to DW,
and reformatting certain stories in AO3 (darn bug doesn't like large chunks in italics or bold so needed to add html to fix),

I had my physical with my general practitioner (actually his partner/wife handles the physicals). It seems redundant with all the specialists I've been to in the past few years, but it was time. There was no good news, just more bad. Cholesterol and blood pressure too high, need to lose weight (duh), referral to neurologist for increase in neuropathy symptoms that are disturbing my sleep. I refused a prescription to help me sleep. I can fall asleep just fine, it's the pain that wakes me repeatedly that is the problem. Although I convinced her to allow me to try to reduce my cholesterol via changes to my diet, I couldn't avoid another blood pressure prescription in addition to what I'm taking. I can hardly wait for the side effects on that.

I see my rheumatologist next week and will see what she thinks about my deteriorating right knee, which can't be treated with anti-inflammatories because of my history with ulcers. Still coughing for 3-4 hours every morning, but that's waiting on the gastroenterologist to evaluate the manometry tests and figure out what is happening - which hopefully will occur before I return to the pulmonary specialist next month in order to have him doing nothing to help.

You know what? Just writing that out is depressing and doesn't even cover everything that's wrong with this body I'm dragging around. The only positive was the doctor finally realizing that I'm 53 halfway through the exam and laughing because she'd thought I was at least ten years younger. I guess that's the payoff for faithfully avoiding the sun for the last thirteen years. :-/

What it all boils down to is I didn't get to write anything and I have two April deadlines looming. *sigh*

Ah well, there is tomorrow after I tag and post the newsletter, and then the weekend because Gary is going skiing in Vermont for a last hurrah for this season.

*scurries off to catch up on f-list*
