danceswithgary...him, my daughter and her boyfriend in Michigan, the rest of our family scattered across the US, my flist, and puppies!
To be honest, it's sort of an ordinary day for us since we're no longer part of the workforce, but we will be roasting a small turkey breast with potatoes and indulging in pumpkin-carrot cake muffins. I'm also hoping to finish and post a McSheplet/BJ Friday story I've been working on so very slowly this week.
In the meantime, there are puppies!
The day starts around 6:30AM with the first puppy run outside followed by breakfast. We finish up eating and wash the dishes, make a second visit to the great outdoors, and are on the loveseat by 8:00AM. I catch up on my flist and sometimes even write a little while Gary and the puppies snooze until almost noon and lunch - although I've been known to occasionally doze off for twenty minutes or so. Gary is already dreading missing the naps when ski season starts and he'll be off to the slopes after breakfast.
Afternoons are for errands and walks in the park if it's nice enough, or indoor wrestling matches and chasing balls if it's too rainy. Dinner is about 6:00PM and then we settle in for a few episodes of whatever series we're watching on Netflix (The Dead Zone right now) and a little gaming (replaying Deus Ex) while the puppies play on the floor. They usually settle down for the night about 9:00PM and snooze on laps until we carry them to their crate around 10:00PM. We often follow their example soon afterward, although I tend to read fic on my PDA for an hour or two before falling asleep.
