All that training is paying off

We currently have a backhoe tearing up our driveway and after only a few barks the girls are settled on the back of the loveseat and quietly watching the action. On the other hand, the two boxers next door haven't shut up (thankfully muffled by distance when they're in their house)

Molly and Tessa even went out on leashes with Gary to watch up close for a bit and they behaved perfectly. Now, if only I could get Tessa to do the same with other dogs.

Buttercup usually barks her head off for about a minute then walks away all, 'I'm done.'

I'd be happy with that. Molly rarely barks, but Tessa barks at everything - the sky, the grass, birds etc. She's just that personality and it's taken me forever to get her to pay attention when I say, "Enough!"

Nah, Buttercup, who is a pitbull, is not really a barker. She barks at people who are on our porch who she doesn't know and she barks at our parents when they come over, and those are two totally different sounds, most of the time she just snuggles or chases the cat. Or the cat chases her, which happens way more often.
