So many shows and nary a new fandom for me

I just finished watching the finale for Lost, which left me a weepy mess and a tad introspective.

For many, many years (God, has it really been 30 years?) I didn't watch television, with the exception of The Amazing Race until it turned into too much in-fighting instead of actual racing. We gave up cable to save money when my daughter was three/I went back to school and we never turned it back on. We rented movies to watch together as a family when we had time and that was it. I was vaguely aware of the existence of certain series from chats at work, but nothing induced me to sit and watch them.

Smallville fanfic/fandom changed that for me to some extent. I bought the DVDs and caught up with the action and started writing and, a few years later, Stargate Atlantis (and Stargate SG-1) became my second fandom. In the last six years, I truly haven't been lured by any other fandoms despite the squee on my flist.

In the past year, while struggling with my health and the accompanying brain fog, I've been using Netflix streaming and watching a lot of those series I'd 'missed' while working and dancing and traveling. Although I enjoyed the following, none of them made me want to write about them or even go looking for fanfic. I starred the shows I can see myself writing crossover/fusions with SV and SGA. They're roughly in order from the most recent backwards and I didn't list any series that I quit watching before the end.

In the meantime, I guess I'm still just a 2-fandom person. Now, if only I could manage to write something in them. *sigh*

Wow, that's a lot of shows! I was looking to see if there was something not on it I could recommend, but pretty much everything I'd recommend is on there. Only other ones I could think of is Supernatural, which I've just fallen in love with for some reason, but is one of those things where you like it or you don't. In any case, it's on Netflix now if you're interested. Also, I really liked Misfits, which is a British heroes type show about delinquents. Only watch if foul language doesn't offend you, though.

I always approach new fandoms in a weird way. I have to get enamored with the fic available in the fandom and then I go catch up on the actual show. That's how it's been for every fandom I've been really active in. Otherwise, even if I really like the show, if I haven't already been reading the fic, I generally won't and never become active.

Anyway, hope something strikes your fancy. New fandoms are always fun!

I have watched Supernatural on DVD through S2 and I'm debating whether to continue. I've beta'ed stories in the fandom and it still hasn't lured me in. Perhaps something will ping in the next list. :-)

I only started watching because I developed a HUGE crush on Misha Collins, as you can see from my icons, lol. He doesn't show up until season 4, so I started there, caught up and then went back to watch the first 3 seasons. I do fandom really bizarrely, apparently, lol.
