More Valentine Thanks! (belated)

I tiptoed over to svmadelyn's Valentine's Day list that is here and was pleasantly surprised to see my name there! I'm still so new to all of this that I really didn't think I'd find anything and was just looking at everyone else's. I'd really like to say thank you for making me feel welcome here. *many hugs*

My day is much better now even though I'm stuck actually working in the office - horrors! I miss my cosy chair. :-P

I'm going to buckle down and get a chapter done tonight 'cause I'm so happy. :-D

Yikes...

No wonder I'm like a slug when it comes to you and your speedy updates... I worry and tinker and rewrite and rewrite and rewrite.

No wonder poeople will probably see hell freeze over before my next update...

It does sound like that doesn't it? But it's not really a night's work which is why it's taking me 3-4 days to post updates in this story where it's usually just 1-2. Your story is HUGE! You should feel bad about how long it takes to update, different authors have different writing methods and speeds. I'm finding as this one grows I have to spend time re-reading the earlier chapters often to try to avoid continuity errors.

A chapter is between 2500-3500 words and I pretty much have it mapped out in my head before I start typing. I make notes on my PDA or send myself emails from work as I think of little bits to incorporate. It will take me about 4 hours to type it and another to proofread- the rest of the time is thinking and sometimes researching.

I actually started the latest chapter last night, but succumbed to a glass of wine (combined with my meds) and was pretty much useless the rest of the night. :-D

Should NOT feel bad. Lord, I keep dropping the 'not' in my replies and that does change the meaning significantly. *blushes*

Well, I am busy and don't have much time to devote to writing and my writing is split between fanfic and real life stuff anyway...
