I'm living in mini version of the The Birds right now and it's starting to freak me out.

Last week, a robin decided it was going to fly through the picture window in our kitchen. Thank goodness there's a lilac bush in front of it that prevented him building up enough speed to kill himself, but not for the lack of trying. All day long. Closing the blinds to reduce a non-existent reflection didn't help. He was obviously being driven mad by something.

Yesterday, a lovely little male goldfinch decided he wanted in. He's tried every window in the front of the house multiple times and he woke us up this morning trying to get in through the bedroom window. We have video of this now. Again, the blinds are down and it's drizzling out. No freaking reflections! In between trying to fly through the windows, he's sitting in the maple tree out front and being the loudest goldfinch we've ever had around our house. I'm sitting in my livingroom and I can hear him banging on the windows upstairs.

I wonder if it's safe to walk up the driveway and get the mail. *raises eyebrows*

Sounds like you've got some very confused birdies around your house. *grins*

If you ever come to south/central Texas, I just want to warn you. The grackles (http://www.hiltonpond.org/images/GrackleCommonFlock01.jpg) really aren't out to get you.

They do that to everyone. 8-)

Oh god, I really shouldn't be laughing. Because the poor birdies, and if this were happening at my house I'd find it really upsetting.

But also really funny.
